Last updated: December 5, 2025
This Cookies Policy explains how Teeyo Pty Ltd (ABN 27 666 191 779) ("Teeyo", "we", "our", "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you or your child uses the Teeyo website, mobile application, and services (the "Platform").
We are committed to privacy and transparency, particularly given that Teeyo is used by children. We use cookies only where necessary to provide a safe, secure, and functional experience.
1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They allow websites to remember information about your visit and provide essential functionality.
Similar technologies include:
- Local storage – data stored in your browser's local storage
- Session storage – temporary data stored during your session
- Web beacons – small tracking pixels (we do not use these)
- Fingerprinting – identifying users by device characteristics (we do not use this)
Teeyo uses only essential cookies necessary for the Platform to function securely. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioral tracking, analytics, or marketing purposes.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
2.1 Essential Session Cookies
Essential session cookies are required for Teeyo to function. We use them to:
- Authenticate your login and keep you securely logged in
- Maintain your active session while using the Platform
- Link your session to the correct account and data

- Load pages correctly and maintain functionality
These cookies are necessary and cannot be disabled without preventing the Platform from working.

3.2 What We Do NOT Store in Cookies
Teeyo does not store in cookies:
- Child's name or identifying information

- Behavioral data or user activity
- Browsing history or pages visited
- Personal preferences or settings

No identifiable personal information is stored in cookies. All essential session data is stored securely on our servers, encrypted and protected.
4. Cookie Duration and Persistence
4.1 Session Cookies
Our essential session cookies are session-based and persist only for the duration of your active session, are automatically deleted when you close your browser, and expire after a period of inactivity (typically 30 minutes to 1 hour). They do not remain on your device long-term.
4.2 Persistent Cookies
Teeyo does not use persistent cookies that remain on your device after closing the browser.
5. Third-Party Cookies
5.1 Third-Party Service Providers
Teeyo uses third-party service providers to operate the Platform. These providers are listed in our Privacy Policy (Section 5) and include Vercel, Cloudflare, MongoDB Atlas, Stripe, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
5.2 Cookies Set by Third Parties
Most third-party providers do not set cookies through the Teeyo Platform. The exception is Stripe.
Stripe Payment Cookies:
- Process your payment securely
- Prevent fraud and unauthorized transactions
- Comply with PCI-DSS security standards
These Stripe cookies are strictly necessary for payment processing, do not track your behavior across other websites, are controlled by Stripe's own Cookie Policy (https://stripe.com/privacy), and are deleted when your payment session ends. We have no control over third-party cookies and cannot access their contents.
5.3 Cloudflare
Cloudflare may set essential cookies to protect against security threats, verify human traffic, and deliver content efficiently. These are strictly necessary and do not track user behavior. For details, see Cloudflare's Cookie Policy (https://www.cloudflare.com/cookie-policy).
6. Consent and Cookie Control
6.1 Your Consent
By creating an account and using Teeyo, you consent to our use of essential session cookies as described in this policy. These cookies are necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
6.2 Managing or Disabling Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings, including viewing, deleting, blocking, or receiving warnings before accepting cookies. If you disable essential session cookies, Teeyo will not function—you will be unable to log in, access writing submissions, use writing tools and feedback features, or save submissions.

7.2 Relationship to Privacy Policy
This Cookies Policy is part of our overall Privacy Policy. For comprehensive information about data collection, use, and protection, please see our Privacy Policy at /privacy.
8. Do Not Track (DNT) Signals
Some browsers allow you to send a "Do Not Track" signal. Teeyo respects these signals. Because we do not engage in tracking, profiling, or behavioral advertising, DNT signals do not change our practices—we do not track users regardless.
